Terms of Use
Hivee is made by Amped Apps · Last updated: July 8, 2026
The short version: be kind to the service, your hive data is yours, and Ask Hivee is a helpful mentor — not a guarantee. You're the beekeeper; final decisions about your bees are always yours.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Amped Apps ("Hivee," "we," "us") and govern your use of the Hivee iPhone app, the Hivee website, and our waitlist (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Your account
You sign in to Hivee with your Apple ID (Sign in with Apple). You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use Hivee. You can delete your account at any time in the app via Profile → Delete Account, which permanently removes your cloud data.
2. Your content stays yours
Your hive records, inspection notes, and photos belong to you. By using Hivee, you give us the limited permission we need to store, sync, back up, and display that content to you — that's what makes the app work. We don't sell your content or use your photos for anything other than operating and improving the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Ask Hivee & beekeeping information
🐝 Please read this one carefully.
Ask Hivee is an AI assistant, and Hivee's health scores, tips, reminders, and weather guidance are informational tools. They can be incomplete or wrong, and they are not professional, veterinary, agricultural, or legal advice.
You are responsible for all decisions about your bees — inspections, treatments, feeding, splits, and everything else in the yard.
Verify anything important (especially disease identification and treatment) with a local expert, your bee club, or your state apiarist before acting.
You're responsible for complying with the laws in your area, including hive registration, treatment regulations, and pesticide rules.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for colony losses, swarms, failed queens, honey production, treatment outcomes, or other beekeeping results.
4. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service. That includes: attempting to access other users' data, reverse-engineering or disrupting the Service, using Ask Hivee to generate harmful or unlawful content, scraping the Service, or using it in a way that violates applicable law.
5. Free plan, Pro, and purchases
Hivee offers a free plan and may offer a paid subscription ("Hivee Pro") with additional features. Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store and are governed by Apple's terms, including their billing and refund policies. Prices and included features may change; we'll communicate changes clearly before they affect you. Free-tier limits (such as the number of hives or monthly Ask Hivee questions) may be adjusted over time.
6. Waitlist & Founder badges
Joining the waitlist doesn't guarantee access by a particular date, and early-access builds (e.g., via TestFlight) are pre-release software that may change or break. Founder badges are a cosmetic thank-you tied to your account: they're limited in number, non-transferable, and have no monetary value.
7. Our stuff
The Hivee name, logo, design, and software are owned by Amped Apps and protected by intellectual-property laws. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own beekeeping. These Terms don't give you rights to our trademarks.
8. The Service is provided "as is"
We work hard to make Hivee reliable, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost — please keep your own records for anything critical.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Amped Apps will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, colonies, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Termination
You can stop using Hivee at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service; where reasonable, we'll give you notice and a chance to export your data.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If a change is material, we'll update this page and notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be handled in the courts located there.
